Cancun Christian Fellowship 1/4/2012 Newsletter

Our Mission: We are servants of God by serving others. We share a responsibility to bring God's love to hurting people. We are a Christian outreach fellowship of believers dedicated to showing the people of the Yucatan Peninsula, through our teaching, actions and love, the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

Because we are the most forgiven people in the world, we should be the most forgiving people in the world. C.J Mahaney

If you are in the Riviera Maya and have a clothing contribution for our children, please contact Cherilyn for sorting, sizing and Wednesday delivery. Please strive to make sure all items offered are clean and serviceable.

Cherilyn and Tom visited Casa Hogar on New Year’s Eve and enjoyed the company of the children, Pastor Mancilla and Esther. Most of the youngsters were dressed in new Christmas clothing and they looked wonderful. Thanks again to Santa and all the helpers for making Christmas such a great event at our Christian home.

We have been blessed with financial and clothing gifts to benefit our children at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza. We are always grateful for the assistance we receive from our worldwide mission partners. Recent gifts include:
Laura, Quintana Roo: Children’s Food Fund
Vartan and Cynthia, Canada: Clothing Donation
Garth and Eileen, Canada: Children’s Food Fund
Alan and Becca, Canada: Children’s Food Fund
Kevin and Erica, Canada: Clothing Donation
Dwight, Sandra and Family, Canada: Clothing Donation

In 2 weeks we will be starting a renovation of the kitchen and laundry area plumbing at Casa Hogar. It is the next step we need to take now that the kitchen and pantry have been renovated. The project should not take longer than a week and will add significantly to the home. The normal day-to-day operation of the home will not be effected. We will post pictures on the website upon completion.

True forgiveness means laying down our right to remain angry and giving up our claim to future repayment of the debt we have suffered. Brian J. Dodd

With the financial help of our Community of Faith Cancun English service and 200+ worldwide Mission Partners, this past week, volunteers from Cancun Christian Fellowship were able to provide cheese, chorizo, molida especial, pork, cereal, carrots, onions, bananas, oranges, rice, noodles and diapers to our Cancun Christian home. Groceries are purchased and delivered every Wednesday. If you would like to make a contribution to our Casa Hogar Children’s Food Fund, please contact Cherilyn or Tom.

Upcoming Events:
We are about to celebrate another anniversary and what better way to do it than a Community of Faith Cancun English Service - Cancun Christian Fellowship Mission Partner Pizza Luncheon. Please mark your calendar for Sunday, February 12th, 2012. We have decided on California Kitchen Pizza. We will give you a meeting time next week and we hope to see all of you there. The Pizza Luncheons have proven to be a great way to enjoy food and fellowship with your Cancun Christian family.

Mark Shook will be providing this Sunday’s lesson on “Gifts You Give Yourself”. We have previewed the lesson and know that you will enjoy it. If, for some reason, you cannot make it to church, the link below will allow you to view it from home. It’s a great lesson…don’t miss it!

This week’s pre-church fishing video will present Flip and Diane Pallot fly fishing for Blue Gills and Bass on Low Country Lakes, South Carolina. The scenery is beautiful and the fishing is great. Come early, we would love to have you join us.

There is such a big difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It takes two to reconcile, so it is not always possible to be reconciled. But it takes only one to forgive. So if people do you wrong, forgive them, whether or not they ask for forgiveness. You cannot cancel their sin. Only God can do that, and He will only do it if they repent. But what you can do is set aside your own anger, bitterness, and resentment towards them. Philip Graham Ryken

We take God’s forgiveness for granted (when) we stubbornly withhold our forgiveness from others. In effect, we behave as though other’s sins against us are more serious than our sins against God. Ken Sande
