With the physical help of Mission Partner Brian Schaefer and his crew, we have completed the new septic/drainage system at Casa Hogar. The work started off hard and got worse. Wednesday, everything that could go wrong went wrong. After a lot of praying Wednesday night, Thursday was a new day. When we arrived at the home the Pastor told us the current septic system was now plugged up and Santiago was scooping out sewage to locate the problem. We decided to dig a separate hole in an attempt to locate the obstruction and by doing that, we located an additional septic line we did not know existed. We were able to tie into the second line and bypass the main four inch line. We are happy to report the new system is now complete and working properly. We added 64 feet of field line and 3 cubic yards of ¾ inch stone to help resolved the gray water problems. We would like to thank several of our Mission Partners in the US and Canada for supplying the funding for this project. Your continued support of our work is truly amazing and we could not do it without you. You are the absolute best.

Several church groups in the US and Canada have expressed interest in joining us in accomplishing the projects so this should be an exciting year and we have made an excellent start. With the help of Mission Partner Brian Schaefer and his crew, we started renovating the kitchen and laundry area plumbing at Casa Hogar today. The word renovation is actually a misnomer because the home does not currently have a plumbing system in the kitchen and laundry area (unless you call plastic buckets a plumbing system). The improvements will greatly enhance the quality of life for our children. The hole we are currently digging is 6 feet wide, 5 feet deep and 12 feet long. Six hours of hard labor by 3.5 men got us down 18 inches. In our excavation activity, we have uncovered everything under the sun with the possible exception of Jimmy Hoffa. Tomorrow is a new day. We will post pictures on the website upon completion.

With the financial help of our worldwide Mission Partners, this past week, volunteers from Cancun Christian Fellowship were able to provide eggs, cheese, molida especial, pork, salchicha dokkers, sliced ham and turkey, and chicken to our Cancun Christian home. The Doctor reported that Marti Mason’s foot is really broken and now she is sporting a cast for the next four to six weeks. Marti, we were very sorry to get that news. We would also like to report that TJ is now home and resting comfortably after surgery and we hope to see him back in church soon. Yes, he has his cell phone with him.

Hola and Happy New Year from Cancun Christian Fellowship
Hola and Happy New Year to all of our wonderful Mission Partners!
2011 was a fantastic year for our Christian Mission Outreach in Mexico and we owe it all to you and your generosity and continued support of our work at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza, our Cancun Christian home.
1st: Our English church continues to grow and prosper. We have been blessed with new members joining our Sunday service and vacationing guests that appreciate a place to worship and fellowship with new Christian friends.
2nd: Our Mission Outreach at Casa Hogar is gaining momentum and our children are growing in love and life changing power of Jesus Christ.
With your help in 2011, we were able to make significant improvements in the kitchen and pantry area as well as minor improvements to the girl’s downstairs bathroom.
With the help of a group from Missouri and Indiana, we were able to repaint and improve space that will be used to help generate future income for the home.
Groups from Canada, Mexico and the US have supplied us with needed clothing, games and toys for the children.
A couple from Texas supplied the home with new blankets for all of the children, Esther and the Pastor when winter chills began to sweep across the Yucatan Peninsula.
3rd: And last but not least, financial donations from Mission Partners around the world supplied the home with nutritious food, diapers, renovations, activities and their best Christmas ever.
2012 is off to a great start. Around the 18th of January, we will begin renovating the kitchen and laundry area plumbing. This is something that is desperately needed and will improve the quality of life in the home.
Next on the list is complete renovation of the upstairs bathroom and both downstairs bathrooms. This is also something that will greatly improve our children’s quality of life.
We are always amazed by your support, generosity and prayers and we sincerely thank you. We gratefully acknowledge that the work could not be accomplished without you. We are always available for your emails, phone calls and visits and really appreciate your feedback.

Cherilyn and Tom visited Casa Hogar on New Year’s Eve and enjoyed the company of the children, Pastor Mancilla and Esther. Most of the youngsters were dressed in new Christmas clothing and they looked wonderful. Thanks again to Santa and all the helpers for making Christmas such a great event at our Christian home.

There is such a big difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It takes two to reconcile, so it is not always possible to be reconciled. But it takes only one to forgive. Cherilyn and Tom visited Casa Hogar on New Year’s Eve and enjoyed the company of the children, Pastor Mancilla and Esther. Most of the youngsters were dressed in new Christmas clothing and they looked wonderful. Thanks again to Santa and all the helpers for making Christmas such a great event at our Christian home.

The Pizza Luncheons have proven to be a great way to enjoy food and fellowship with your Cancun Christian family.

There is such a big difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It takes two to reconcile, so it is not always possible to be reconciled. But it takes only one to forgive. So if people do you wrong, forgive them, whether or not they ask for forgiveness. You cannot cancel their sin. Only God can do that, and He will only do it if they repent. Christmas Eve at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza was wonderful, a genuine recharge for the soul’s batteries. You were represented by Cherilyn, Henry, TJ and Tom. Haven and her family were also there to help out and enjoy the fellowship. The children were a delight to watch and be with and all faces were filled with joy and appreciation. Our group arrived around 8:00 PM to place their presents around the tree and wait for our children to return from church. Before the children’s Christmas celebration we all gathered around tables to enjoy their traditional Christmas Eve feast. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate the eve of the greatest day in the history of our world. If you did not make it, why not join us next year?

Our Christmas Day Community of Faith Cancun English service was fantastic. It started with 30 minutes of traditional Christmas music which allowed us time to enjoy conversation and fellowship with our friends. Listening music was followed by singing traditional hymns, a great Christmas service lesson and a candlelight close.

As we have discussed, this week’s service will start at 9:30 AM featuring Christmas music by Ernesto Cortazar II. Ernesto Cortazar II (1940–2004) was a contemporary classical composer and pianist. He started his music career in Mexico at the age of 18 composing the background music for the motion picture La Risa de la Ciudad. Since then, he has composed background music for more than 500 motion pictures. He also gained notoriety by topping the popularity on MP3.com - a leading music-sharing service, popular with independent musicians for promoting their work. He traveled to more than 25 countries to perform. In 2001, Ernesto moved from Los Angeles to Tampico, Mexico to live his last years near his family, where he died in 2004. His music legacy is continued by his two sons, Ernesto Cortazar III and Edgar Cortazar, who are successful songwriters in the Latin market. We promise you will enjoy the pre-church music so come early, relax and enjoy Christmas Day with us.

From 9:30 to 10:00 you will have the opportunity to visit with your friends and enjoy your favorite Christmas music. Please join us for traditional Christmas music, a great lesson and fellowship with your Cancun Christian family. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate His very special day.

With the financial help of our worldwide Mission Partners, this past week, volunteers from Cancun Christian Fellowship were able to provide eggs, cereal, mermelada, diapers, rice, oranges, apples, watermelons, cantaloupes and bananas to our Cancun Christian home. Groceries are purchased and delivered every Wednesday. If you would like to make a contribution to our Casa Hogar Food Fund, please contact Cherilyn or Tom.

As we have discussed, this week’s service will start at 9:30 AM featuring Christmas music by Ernesto Cortazar II. Ernesto Cortazar II (1940–2004) was a contemporary classical composer and pianist. He started his music career in Mexico at the age of 18 composing the background music for the motion picture La Risa de la Ciudad. Since then, he has composed background music for more than 500 motion pictures. He also gained notoriety by topping the popularity on MP3.com - a leading music-sharing service, popular with independent musicians for promoting their work. He traveled to more than 25 countries to perform. In 2001, Ernesto moved from Los Angeles to Tampico, Mexico to live his last years near his family, where he died in 2004. His music legacy is continued by his two sons, Ernesto Cortazar III and Edgar Cortazar, who are successful songwriters in the Latin market. We promise you will enjoy the pre-church music so come early, relax and enjoy Christmas Day with us.

Ed Young will be providing this week’s Sunday service lesson on “The True Miracle of Christmas”. It will be a great lesson and we sincerely hope you join us on Christmas Day. This is the same Christian Day lesson that will be viewed by millions of Christians around the world.

• Christmas Eve at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza is the best way we can think of to prepare for Christmas Day. You are all invited to join us for the activities that will begin around 8:00 PM. Be sure to bring your camera. If you plan to attend, please let us know in advance so we can give Esther a head count.
• A special Christmas Day English service is planned for our COF members and guests. Our Savior’s Birthday Celebration will begin at 9:30 AM. From 9:30 to 10:00 you will have the opportunity to visit with your friends and enjoy your favorite Christmas music. Please join us for traditional Christmas music, a great lesson and fellowship with your Cancun Christian family. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate His very special day.

If you are considering a commodity donation to Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza, here are items that are currently needed:
1. Children’s clothes and shoes (any size-any gender)
If you are in Cancun and have a clothing donation for our children, please contact Cherilyn for sorting, sizing and Wednesday delivery. Strive to make sure all items donated are clean and serviceable. Currently, we especially need clothing for young girls ages 6-11.
We have been blessed with financial donations to benefit our children at Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza. We are always grateful for the assistance we receive from our worldwide mission partners. Recent donations include:

With the financial help of our worldwide Mission Partners, this past week, volunteers from Cancun Christian Fellowship were able to provide a week’s supply of cheese (yellow and white), chicken, chorizo, pork, ham and turkey lunchmeat, salchicha, molida especial, rice, cereal, mermelada and milk to our Cancun Christian home. Groceries are purchased and delivered every Wednesday. If you would like to make a donation to our Casa Hogar Food Fund, please contact Cherilyn or Tom.
Gary and Carlisa, new Mission Partners from the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS, generously provided funding for new blankets for all of our children along with Esther and the Pastor. The blankets were purchased and delivered today. Thank you guys, words cannot express what this means to our family.
The Casa Hogar para Ninos Esperanza Christmas decoration was last night and we had a great turnout. The younger children had face paingint, played games, decorated cupcakes and sang songs. The boys were treated to a fun and games night at Peter Piper Pizza. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our children and share God’s love.
As many of you know, just prior to the Sunday service we show different fishing videos from approximately 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM. We have a loyal group that shows up weekly to enjoy the fishing adventures. This week we will be highlighting fishing the waters around Homosassa, Florida. You are invited to come early and join in the fellowship.

NEWS FLASH: Fritos Scoops are now located in the “organic food section” at Superama on Autopista 307. We stumbled on them by accident but find their new organic food status very appropriate.
